‍A tree may need to be removed for numerous reasons but other options should be explored before coming to this decision. If it is required then a tree may be removed by a straight fell or dismantling.

Why does a tree need removing?
Tree removal could be carried out for the following reasons, amongst others:

Growing too close to property or infrastructure
Disease such as Ash Dieback
Unsafe either from disease or structure of the tree
To allow development or construction

Dismantling a Tree
We dismantle a tree in sections, removing branches and then cutting portions of the tree, these are then lowered to the ground. Traditionally, this would have been carried out by climbing the tree and lowering to the ground with ropes. As arboricultural methods have progressed along with Health and Safety this has become more mechanised with the use of MEWP's and cranes with varying attachments.
